Description: Although one of the smaller carnivores on its home planet, the C-97 dragon is by no means offenseless. Its mouth is lined with razor-sharp, recurved teeth. Both its single-clawed feet and its wings are retractable, making it adapted for all terrains- including the ocean. On its tail are three sets of deadly thagomizer spikes, used for impaling the hides of even the toughest and largest animals in existence. It doesn't have eyes, it doesn't need them with his sensitive hearing, smell, and electromagnetic detection. That's right, it can feel its victims from miles away without seeing them. If that wasn't enough, they hunted in packs of up to ten members, making them one of the smartest species on the planet. It's no wonder, then that these vicious carnivores inhabit every realm of C-97, its homeworld.
The most commonly seen breed of C-97 Dragon is the male drone (pictured above), although there are many castes in their elaborate systems. There are the Drones, the female egg layers, the neutral hive builders, and a massive, one-ton king at the center of it all. All of the males and asexuals are the king's offspring, as well as some of the females- his harem mothered them all. Every autumn, when all of the food storages are full from the summer's bounty, the drones search for the king's daughters of other hives to mate with and start a colony. All kings and harems, old and new, will spend the winter breeding new drones, workers, and daughters for next year. Then, come spring, the drones hunt for their food storages again, and the process starts all over.
