Villarrica National Park, Chile

This scene was inspired by the various conifer forests of Chile, known for the region's high amounts of volcanic activity and exotic vegitation. It is also one of the few places on Earth today where the Acuacaria, or "Monkey Puzzle," trees are able to grow and spread. Places like this are reminiscent to the environments in Late Cretaceous Montana, making it the ideal place for BBC to shoot scenes for the last episode in their ground-breaking series "Walking with Dinosaurs." However, this is still based on modern-day Chile. Rendered in Truespace 3.2, edited in Photoshop.
