The Hunt

The dire wolf: the unsung predator of the Ice Age. Although not as large or powerful as the infamous Saber-toothed cat it lived alongside, it was truly massive by wolves' standards. It measured six feet long in some cases, and weighed in at as much as 120 pounds. They are most common in North and South America, but this poor loner has seemed to have gotten separated and is stranded in western Europe. There are no buffalo here, and humans drive carnivores away. With little food, he's becoming weaker and weaker by the day. As winter comes, he's in danger of starving or freezing to death....
But wait, here's a chance! He comes across a herd of Great European Elk. In the whiteout of a fierce northern blizzard, one of the herd members falls dangerously behind. He's now all alone, in the open, entirely vulnerable. This could be the wolf's last chance...
