the Beasts of the Apocalypse- the Angels of Revelation

Revelation 4:6-8
[6] And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
[7] And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.
[8] And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.

 For the record, I understand that this is supposed to be Heaven that John is talking about here, so you're probably wondering why it's dark and grim. Well, dear audience whom I have not and likely will never meet face-to-face, I have two reasons for that.
First, it fits more of the atmosphere of horror, Hallowe'en, and arguably the surrealism of the rest of the Book of Revelation.
Second, it's only supposed to be heaven for the dead. Think about it- God is the highest high, the best good, the Light of the World. Because of that, no unclean thing can dwell in His presence. It's like comparing any countable number to infinity- it just can't be done. Next to it, everything would be dark and cold by mere comparison- even heaven...

I need to stop confusing the Bible with the Necronomicon.
