Thor VS the Midgard Serpent

This is a piece inspired by ancient Norse Mythology. More specifically, it's a reference to the legend of the Ragnarok. (say: RAG-nuh-ROCK) This tale, having probably the coolest name of anything in existence, depicts future events of the end of the nine realms and the end of times. In fact, the name Ragnarok is a contraction of the two Norse words for 'the End of the Gods.'
Now, you're probably wondering: what does a fearsome battle in the far future have to do with a guy with a hammer in front of a sea serpent? Well, the history goes something like this.
Loki is the god of trickery and evil, part frost giant, and is currently in exile because he had murdered another god Baldr. However, he is starting to break free. The bounds that hold him away from Asgard, the home of the higher gods, are growing weaker. The, dwarves, dark elves, frost giants, and all of the darker creatures of the universe are growing restless. They are breaking into Asgard, and the Aesir are doing all that they can to protect their home.
Most devastating of all are the three children of Loki: Fenrir, the giant wolf of the river Van; Hel, the goddess of the underworld Helheim; and the monster Jörmungandr, or the Midgard Serpent. While the Aesir are busy fighting the other two in Asgard, the Midgard Serpent writhes and coils around the earth, creating titanic waves that start wiping the land. Thor, the chosen guardian of the Earth and its inhabitants, must leave the other gods behind: they can take care of themselves. This here is it. This is the most intense moment of the great war before the end of the world. This is the turning point of everything the universe had ever known! THIS HERE IS.....
