If this was a fairy tale, he would have found the lamp and, when he rubbed it, a mystical being would have appeared before him. This genie would have been tormented by his previous master, a ruthless tyrant who used the wishes to decimate kingdoms and obtain wealth, but this wouldn't have affected the slave one bit. He would have been happy to help our new hero, setting right what went wrong with gifts of charity and goodwill.
But this isn't that type of Djinn.
So this isn't that type of story.
