Happy Earth Day!- 2015

Only now do I realize that the most "normal" thing that I've put on this blog was probably a mediocre painting of a rhinoceros.
Now, it isn't!
On the topic of Earth Day, you're probably expecting some environmentalism message or fact about trends in global climate change. I do care about those, but not to the extent of pretentiously warning about how we're causing the apocalypse. I see this day more as a day of appreciation. Think about the odds of being born on a planet which has everything that society has needed to survive for the past ten thousand years. In a closed system, the chances are up in the trillions to one.
So, while it's fun to look in space, in the atom, and across the eighth dimension(!) and speculate what's waiting for us there, it's good every now and then to sit back and appreciate what we have here.
