Wheja's Sketchbook No. 3- Argax

Submission for 2013 Creature Cabal.
Yeah, these sketchbook scans are rather frequent, aren't they? They DO save time for animating and rendering "Skrawl", so I guess it works as long as it's scary enough.
Continuing on, this highlands beast is known as the mouth of the mountains for obvious reasons. However, this massive head only holds so much brain-power. His aggression isn't territorial- it's simply a very hungry carnivore. Powerful jaws and a strong gizzard mean that this is a creature that eats practically anything it sees.
While this sounds a bit childish and counterproductive, it has lead to some interesting results. It doesn't use any strategy to take prey down; it simply charges at them with a gaping mouth. The tumult can be heard from several hundred yards, but the Argax is actually rather fast for its size (about two meters long). Its jaws also insure that, once it does catch up to its prey, it doesn't let go until either one of them dies.
It's also worth mentioning that no specimen has ever been reported to have died of old age.
