Splinter

Here's an experiment for another new concept I'm working in. It is on the subject of temporal splinters.
Let me explain.
Astronomers used to think that black holes were mere science fiction, but they are, in fact, everywhere in the universe. Millions alone live in our galaxy, and super-massive ones dominate the center of each one. We even have photographs of black holes in the far reaches of space colliding. Of course, collisions are a bad thing. As the two head for each other, the immense gravitational pull between the two cause the time-space continuum to ripple. Wave after wave of gravity, antigravity, compression, decompression, and time perception severely hinder the stars and galaxies nearby.
Now, imagine that this was to happen twice at the same time? Two of the same waves would intersect, doubling their potency. If these waves were powerful enough, the fabric of the universe would be ripped to shred. Time-space "Splinters" like the one depicted here would open, leading to random areas across time and space. Such an event would create a Temporal apocalypse.
Welcome to another version of the end of the world.
Splinter created in Truespace 3.2, building textures found online, Edited in Photoshop.
