Chronicles of the Caltigara: Legend of the Translator

More hand-drawings! More Lava! More Dinosaurs!
This little guy here is what is known as a translator: a sort of magician or a shaman if you will. The idea for translating actually came to me in a dream, but that is a tale for a later date. For now, let's just look at this guy.
He wasn't supposed to be a translator. He was originally a commoner just like every other Raptor. However, his mate was growing ill, very ill. He could not afford to wait and see the pack's true translator, so he did the unthinkable: he went in the middle of the night to the Caltigara (sacred stone, a hunk of meteorite with unthinkable powers) and tried to use the powers himself. He was caught before he could come to true power, and brought before the council. Although his intentions were fair, he had touched the pack's most sacred artifact and, therefore, was forced into exile. Now, he lies in the northern wastes, waiting for a chance to return to his pack....

  1. I like this one! It looks really cool. Kinda mysterious looking. My first impression was of Lord of the Rings and then I thought, 'That would make a great story!' and you gave it a great beginning. The story you gave with it makes it even better!
