King of the Mirrorlands
Also called the Emperor Fisher, the King of the Mirrorlands lives in a mysterious place in the mountains. The whole floor is made of smooth, un-absorbing stone, but the rains are still plenty, leaving a mile-wide layer of inch-thin water.
Legend has it, that the brave go there to be judged by the king. In the lake, they see themselves, not as they appear, but as they are. If they are found to be who they are supposed, they may be granted leave. If not, the king comes swiftly, quietly, and deadly.
To this day, no one has returned from the mountain.
