Yeti- the Stone Beast

They wander upwards, ever upwards, with their sights set on the peak. The clouds soon commune around them, and a light snow drifts in. It seems like any other summer storm, but this is no mere loft. Soon, the team experience complete whiteout. The snow comes in torrents, and the winds push to forty miles per hour. This is a freak storm- a blizzard.
The team tries to find shelter, but the deepening snow only makes it harder and harder to move, let alone walk. In the chaos following, none realize that their numbers are dwindling. Where once stood eight men and women now stand six, then five, then three. It's not long before the last man turns around to find that no one stands with him.
The loneliness overwhelms him. He breaths harder. He struggles more to get through the deep snow. He feels a thousand eyes watching him. Choirs of woe tell him that he cannot make it out of this alive. It all becomes too much. With the taint of fear, he screams as loud as his lungs can bear. He then falls to his knees, crying.
Amid the storms, he hears a faint rustling. With no other prospect, he slowly lifts his head. Amid the clearing fog, he sees a promontory shielding a small cave. Two bright eyes, alive yet soulless, stare right back in to him. A large, muscular arm holds what might have been a human being. The smell of fresh blood now hangs heavy in the air.
The lone hiker, too frightened to fear, falls forward in fatigue and despair. His fate is certain. He can hide his eyes, and he can ignore the voices, but his final act is written. The creatures giant, crushing paw is all that is left to drop the curtain...
