How does one complete a trap? What brings the prey to the hunter?
A lure.

This fact has been utilized by a very stealthy cave predator for the past ten million years. It is a solitary, ambush carnivore that lurks in outlets of dark tunnels. By piquing curiosity, it lures prey in patiently with bright, bioluminescent patches. Mystified, the prey wanders closer, ever closer. By the time it realizes its host, it's too late. It is caught in a giant, sprawling web. There is no escape.

The maddening marauder always has its prize.
